Security company licensing in Rhode Island

Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General, Bureau of Criminal Identification licenses security companies here, but we do not yet carry its roster, so we cannot tell you who is on it.

The Attorney General licenses private security guard businesses and states it holds 90 active licences, but publishes no register, search tool or list. All inquiries go to a mailbox, and a public records request is the only route.

Until then, verify a company with the regulator directly, and treat any license number a company gives you as a claim we have not checked.

There is a second license, and in Rhode Island it may be the only one that exists: the guard’s own.
